While Yom Kippur can be an intense experience any year, this year Yom Kippur is taking place just days after the first anniversary of the Oct. 7 massacre.
Yonatan Shamriz, whose brother was mistakenly killed by IDF troops along with two other hostages in December, stressed that “This day should be for unity.”
