After Israel successfully rescued two hostages from Hamas, Israelis are discussing how the country should move forward to release the rest: a ceasefire and hostage deal, military pressure, or a mix of the two?
The negotiations are in a “much better place” than they have been in recent weeks, Qatar’s prime minister said, but the chances of reaching a deal remain uncertain.
Israeli reactions to the hostage deal are mixed. While there is a strong desire for the hostages’ release, many view the deal as unfair because Israel is exchanging three prisoners for each hostage.
