The United States has been celebrating Jewish American Heritage month every May since 2006 when President George W. Bush signed a proclamation establishing the month.
The purpose of Jewish American Heritage Month is to “celebrate the inspiring history of Jewish people in America; educate diverse public audiences about Jewish culture; and spark crucial conversations about the American Jewish present and future.”
