Have extremists taken over Israel’s government?

Benjamin (Bibi) Netanyahu is back as Israel’s prime minister, but this time his coalition includes some far-right fringe figures. Headlines around the world are sounding the alarm that Israel has gone off the proverbial deep end, and that democracy is seriously threatened.

So, what is really going on? Is all of this outcry against the new Israeli government justified? Is the government as bad as everyone is making it seem? Or is this just the same old finger-pointing? Like it or not, Israel’s new government is a reflection of where Israel (or at least half of Israel) is at.
