You could be forgiven for not recognizing the name Daniella Pick. Up until a few months ago, few people outside her native Israel had heard of her. But with her celebrity profile on the rise, that’s all changed. Below, we round up some of our favorite factoids about the model, actress and musician.

She’s married to Quentin Tarantino

The famed American film director met Pick when he was in Israel promoting his movie “Inglorious Basterds,” and the couple had been dating off and on for more than eight years. The two tied the knot in 2018 in Los Angeles. Tarantino fans may recall that the director of “Pulp Fiction” and “Kill Bill” said he would retire before ever getting married. But there’s no need to worry. The 55-year-old director doesn’t seem to be slowing down. He promised to make 10 movies, and his ninth, “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood,” was released in July. And now there’s more good news on the horizon. The legendary long-time bachelor and his new bride are expecting their first child.

She has a role in her hubby’s new movie

According to IMDb, Pick has a role in “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood,” about a faded television actor and his stunt double who strive to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood’s Golden Age in 1969. Modern-day Hollywood is buzzing with anticipation, mostly due to the film’s A-list cast (Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie) but also because it earned a six-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

She’s a good singer

Pick first started singing in the early 2000s as a duo with her sister Sharona. Appearing in a qualifying round for the Eurovision contest, their music had more of a teen pop flavor back then. But Daniella’s tastes have matured over the years. As you can see in the music video to her song “More or Less,” the 35-year-old has an almost Amy Winehouse-meets-Adele vibe going on.

No, but she’s a really good singer

She’s got some skills, and has the ability to take an old song and give it her own personal twist. Just take a look at the above video, a cover of the 1993 hip-hop dance song “What is Love.” We’re betting that her newfound fame for being the future Mrs. Tarantino will also bring some well-deserved new fans to her music.

Her dad is kind of a big deal

Pick’s dad is musician and composer Svika Pick, who began performing as a teenager and never really stopped. He was named “Israel’s Male Singer of the Year” in the 1970s, an era when he and fellow Israeli Shuki Levy were making music heard round the world. He performed in the Hebrew version of the Broadway musical “Hair” and penned a song which won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998. When asked recently about his daughter’s engagement, the father of five said, “There is joy in our family.”

She’s prolific on Instagram
